Inspired by the timeless masterpiece Las Meninas, Velázquez Reimagined is a contemporary exploration of presence, identity, and silent power.
This collection does not seek to recreate the past—but to translate its essence into a modern visual language.
Drawing from the depth, composition, and atmosphere of Diego Velázquez’s work, the project reinterprets classical portraiture through sculptural hair design, textured movement, and refined imperfection. The structured volumes echo historical silhouettes, while disrupted details introduce a sense of freedom, individuality, and now.
Each look represents a modern figure of presence—strong yet introspective, composed yet evolving. The gaze is no longer bound by hierarchy or tradition; instead, it reflects a new generation defining its own identity.
Lighting and tone follow a painterly approach, creating depth and intimacy, where shadow and light become part of the narrative—just as in classical art. The result is a visual dialogue between past and present, discipline and instinct, control and release.
